On December 13th starting at 5:00 p.m., the Electric Light Boat
Parade will be the culmination to our Lakes Festival of Lights. We'll have a fantastic flotilla of beautifully decorated boats.
And it's great fun too! The crowd in the stands cheers for their
favorite boats as they pass by. People in the boats wave to the crowd,
sing carols, and enjoy all the lights.
If you're a Lakes Association boat owner, we encourage you to decorate
your boat and enter it in the Parade. Here's what to do:
-
Register:
Please register your
boat for the Parade before November 30. Even if you're not sure,
register it anyway. That way if you change your mind, we'll have your
boat on our list. To register your boat,
the registration form. You'll receive a sign with your registration
number so we can identify your boat as it passes the viewing stands.
Last minute show ups are still welcome -- the more boats, the better the show.
-
Decorate:
Use all your creativity
to make your boat special. Remember all the boats (and homes & yards)
will be judged on Monday, December 4th starting at 5:30 p.m. so
make sure your lights are lit! Remember, you can't win a trophy if you
don't decorate!
-
Batteries:
Please make sure
your batteries are fully charged before the Parade.
-
Instructions: If you're
"captaining" a boat in the Parade,
CLICK HERE to download a full set of instructions. Keep a copy in
your boat for reference during the Parade.
-
Direction:
Just a note, this year
all the boats will be going in the same direction (counter-clockwise) starting
at the north end of the lake.
-
Dignitary Boats: Help lead the
Parade! We need boats to seat VIPs and dignitaries for the Parade.
If you would like to host Festival dignitaries on your boat, you must have
seating available for at least six dignitaries. We’ll have VIP docking
at the Yacht Club for all dignitary boats. Please let us know ASAP… we
need your help with this. Call 341-9609 or e-mail
manningd@nv.doe.gov
So join the fun. Be a part of the only Electric Light Boat Parade in
Las Vegas!
