What is it?

The Lakes Festival of Lights kicks off the Holiday season each December in The Lakes area just off West Sahara Avenue.  The event is open to the public and admission is FREE.  Our focus is on families of all ages and each year thousands of people come out to join the fun.  There's truly something for everyone:

  • Family entertainment (singing, dancing, bands and celebrities - FREE)
  • Face painters, balloon twisters, magicians - FREE
  • Kids visit Santa Claus - FREE
  • Arts & crafts show (buy that special holiday gift at the Festival)
  • Car show (simply the best - FREE)
  • Food (it's spectacular) - complete Outback Steakhouse dinner for a small donation
  • Exhibits (all kinds of activities for kids and information for parents - FREE)
  • Electric light boat parade (you have to see it to believe it - FREE)

Who Are We?

The Lakes Festival of Lights is a "grass roots" community festival.  It's planned, organized and operated entirely by unpaid community volunteers.  Click here to see a list of those who've already volunteered.  Each year the ranks of our volunteers grows and without their support this event would not be possible.

How Can I get Involved?

If you'd like to join the ranks of Festival Volunteers click here to send us an e-mail.  Please be sure to include your name, address and phone number.  We welcome your support.

Who Pays For All This?

This event is largely paid for by our generous sponsors.  Click here to see a list of our generous sponsors.  We appreciate the financial support of these wonderful organizations.  We hope you will give them your patronage.

If you'd like to help sponsor this year's Festival of Lights, please print out the attached contribution form, fill it out and send it to us with your check in the amount of $750.

Disclaimer:

The volunteers that put on the Festival do their best to make the event successful, but one thing we can't control is the weather.  In the case of bad weather, we'll try to make the best of it and have the best Festival we can.  Because all the costs that we incur to put on the Festival are paid in advance, we cannot grant refunds to vendors or entrants due to inclement weather.
